How to Get Ahead in 2015

January 10, 2015

Every year people search for ways to improve themselves as well as their brands. The best way to accomplish it is to set the trend, and not become one. These tips will help you achieve it all.

1. Become More Popular

People tend to follow trends. If you appear to be popular, they want to be a part of your “in” crowd. Make yourself seen. Be present at industry events. Build your social media platform, and attract more friends and followers. Learn how to speak to make people want to listen to you. On the flip side, learn how to listen so people want to speak to you.

2. Share Your Knowledge

Become an “expert” in your field. Research, retain, and then redistribute. Knowledge is power, and people gravitate towards smart people. They not only want to hear what you have to say, they also tend to add you to their list of credible resources.

3. Put On Your Creative Hat.

Show off your originality. Do things differently from the competition, and shake things up a bit. Create your own personal style. Learn to stand out in a crowd, and make people notice you. You don’t want to be like everyone else, you want to be the person everyone else emulates. Think outside the box, and let your creativity shine through.

4. Exude Confidence.

People like people who like themselves. If you are self-assured and confident, others gravitate towards you. The same holds true for your interests and your business. If you are passionate about what you like and what you do, others will begin to care about it, too. Believe in yourself, and others will follow your lead.

5. Play Nice.

You can’t always choose your colleagues, but you can choose how you interact with them. You don’t have to be friends with nor like everybody. However, do not subject yourself to unnecessary conflict. There are so many different people in this world with varying perspectives, yourself included. Show respect for the idiosyncrasies of others, and people will be more willing to be tolerant of yours.

Wishing You A

Promising, Pioneering, and Productive 2015!
